How to Use Separated SVG Layers in 3D Printing & Vinyl Cutters
When working with multi-material 3D printers like Bambu Lab AMS or Prusa MMU, or using vinyl plotters such as Cricut and Silhouette, vector designs must be divided into separate color paths. Maintaining identical canvas sizes ensures each layer fits perfectly without manual alignment.
Multicolor 3D Printing
Import all exported SVGs with the same size and position X=0, Y=0. Overlay the layers to assign a different filament or AMS spool to each color.
Cricut and Silhouette
Load each file into Cricut Design Space or Silhouette Studio. Cut each color on its corresponding vinyl sheet using registration marks for heat press layering.
