How to Resize Images Online
This tool lets you change the pixel dimensions of one or multiple images directly in your browser. Select or drag your JPG, PNG or WebP files, choose the target width and height (or a percentage), and click Resize & Download. A single image downloads immediately; multiple images are packaged in a ZIP file.
Aspect Ratio and Proportional Fit
When Maintain Aspect Ratio is enabled, the tool calculates the largest size that fits within your target dimensions while preserving the original proportions. For example, resizing a 1920×1080 image to a maximum of 960×720 produces 960×540, not 960×720, because the width is the limiting factor. This avoids distortion across a batch of images with different proportions.
If you disable aspect ratio lock, each dimension is applied exactly as entered, which can stretch or compress the image intentionally.
Supported Formats
JPG, PNG and WebP are supported. The output format matches the input: a PNG stays PNG (transparency is preserved), a JPG stays JPG, and a WebP stays WebP. GIF, AVIF, SVG and HEIC are not supported by this tool.
PNG Transparency
PNG files with transparent or semi-transparent areas are resized correctly. The alpha channel is preserved in the output. No white or black background is added unless you convert to JPG using a different tool.
Enlarging Images
You can increase the dimensions beyond the original size. However, enlarging an image does not add detail or improve photographic quality — it simply scales the existing pixels to fill the new size. The result may appear softer or less sharp than the original.
Image Quality and EXIF Data
The resize engine uses the browser's native canvas with high-quality smoothing. JPEG and WebP outputs are encoded at a fixed quality level that balances file size and visual fidelity. PNG is lossless. Because the image is re-encoded through the browser canvas, all EXIF metadata (GPS location, camera model, date, orientation) is removed from the output file — a useful side effect for privacy.
Privacy
The entire process runs locally in your browser. Your image data is never uploaded to any server. No account, no registration, no storage.
